iTold You So
June 9th, 2008
I wish I could find this, but somewhere on the vast Internet, I predicted that the iPhone would stop shipping with a dock.
This happened with iPods when the price was cut at some point (I’d have to dig to find out exactly when), and while the iPhone price cut comes due to a carrier subsidy, Apple is still saving some pennies by not putting the dock in the box.
From Apple’s iPhone 3G tech specs page:
In the box
- iPhone 3G
- Stereo Headset with mic
- Dock Connector to USB Cable
- USB Power Adapter
- Documentation
- Cleaning/polishing cloth
- SIM ejector tool
At least they still give you a wall charger, but I guess you can’t sell a phone without a wall charger.
I don’t know, maybe Steve could.

It Took Me Long Enough
April 7th, 2008
So I finally managed to get WordPress up and running (I’ve only had hosting for oh, eight months or so). I’ve pretty much stripped out all of the functionality from the default template, like comments and tags. Some features may be reintroduced in the future. Well, lets face it, that probably is not going to happen because look how long it took me to get this going. One piece I definitely have to put back in is navigation, currently there is no good way around, oops! I am also planning on converting the style sheet to relative units so that the layout will scale.
You will notice a few posts older than this one. I wrote them statically before so I could test my design. I put them into WordPress now for the same reason.

Springlets for iPhone and iPod touch
February 10th, 2008
Springlets, by Magnetism Studios, are a really great way to save time waiting for pages to download (especially over a busy EDGE connection). For example, instead of going to Wikipedia’s home page to begin a search, you are prompted for your search query and it is posted directly to the search page.
